Finding a Place to Connect at SPC

There’s a place for you here at Seneca Presbyterian Church!

Wherever you are in your life or in your faith, SPC is here to help you find connection and deepen your relationships with God and your community. From small group book studies and Sunday school to special events throughout the year, we want you to be a part of this church family.

Worship is the center of a relationship with God and can be in private prayer, meditation or with a community of fellow worshipers. Our weekly worship service is offered on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and includes music, prayer, scripture, a sermon, and time to share God’s love with fellow worshipers seeking His purpose, presence, and power for their lives.

You are invited to join us in person or online. We broadcast our service live on our Facebook page.

Adult Sunday school offers a place of fellowship, study, and growth as you walk your faith journey. We currently have an adult class meeting in Classroom One at 9 a.m. on Sundays during the months of September to May, with a summer sabbatical in June and July. All are welcome!

Seneca Kids

SPC’s children’s ministry offers a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment dedicated to helping our smallest members experience and explore God’s love. Get your kids involved in the Children’s Choir, Sunday school, or the Little Garden. Our children are always doing something FUN.

Express and deepen your faith through music! We strive to include the full expression of musical styles in our worship including traditional, contemporary, classical, modern, hymns old and new, different voices, different rhythms and different languages. Please consider joining the band, chancel choir, or handbell choir and help us worship God through the gift of music. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and you can contact Rosalie Hovencamp to learn more.

Special Times of Worship

Seneca Presbyterian Church (USA) orders our time by the seasons of the Church Year. Our Church Year begins four Sundays before Christmas with Advent, a season to prepares us to receive and celebrate the gift of God’s love and teachings through the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. During Advent, we light an Advent candle each Sunday to remind us of the gifts from God of hope, peace, joy, and love, then on Christmas Eve, we celebrate Christ’s birth with two special services: one where children reenact the Christmas story and another more traditional service of scripture, carols, candles, and communion.

Then forty days before Easter, we celebrate Lent, a season of penitence and preparation that begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes with Holy Week, the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday when we celebrate that ‘Christ is Risen’.

In addition to the Christmas and Easter celebrations, our church celebrates All Saints Sunday and Kirking of the Tartans. All Saints Sunday (typically the first Sunday in November) is an opportunity to remember the saints of our church family who have died during the previous year. Since Presbyterians have roots in Scotland, we recognize that legacy with a special tradition called Kirking of the Tartans, a day for Scottish pageantry and bagpipes that is celebrated in a worship service every other year.

We want you to get involved!
